Description
Peanut Brittle, delicious toasted peanuts in golden brittle toffee. What's not to love? The sweetness of the brittle toffee (traditionally made with granulated rather than ground sugar) goes perfectly with the nutty flavour of the peanuts. Such a wonderful combination and if you love toffee or nuts then you will love Peanut Brittle.

A classic American treat, there are a few suggestions as to how Peanut Brittle was invented, from Civil War soldiers to a happy accident of adding baking soda to a taffy recipe instead of cream of tartar. By far our favourite comes from American folklore, however. Legend has it that peanut brittle was created by accident by a lumberjack who stopped a flood by using giant peanuts and molasses. When the mixture set, the lumberjack realised it tasted amazing and peanut brittle was born.

Whatever the true origins of Peanut Brittle, we do know that Peanut Brittle traditionally compromises corn syrup, bicarbonate of soda, sugar, water and of course – peanuts!

This crunchy, peanutty concoction is deliciously moreish, but not one for those of you with fillings…unless you’re on very good terms with your dentist! So if you're a fan already we know you'll love our peanut brittle or if you've never tried it before, why not give it a try? We think it might just be your new favourite sweet.
